Rayman Legends style character concept

Probably my favorite project I was working on so far!
Here is the final result of the final exam in my Stylized Design & Creation class. The goal was to design chess figures in a franchise style and cultural myth of our choice. First, we had to analyse the style and create an artbible which should help us along the character design. Chosing a fanchise and a cultural myth was not really difficult to pick for me,
Rayman always has a special place in my heart and as someone who grew up with slavic mythology I thought the combination of these two would be a perfect fit.
